Molly Moran, Horse Lover and Homeboykris’s Regular Exercise Rider, Speaks Out
"I just want to take a minute to address all the negativity surrounding the deaths on Preakness day. As the exercise rider of Homeboy Kris, I never rode a horse who liked to run as much as he did. He marched to the track everyday. All throughout Preakness week he would step on to the track and stand still... posing for all the cameras, as if he himself was a favorite in the Preakness. He was one of my toughest horses to gallop because all he wanted to do was run fast.
His heart attack shocked everyone that day. And it saddened the hearts of everyone involved with the horse. As a team, the Campitellis, the grooms, the hot walkers, the vets and myself go through leaps and bounds day after day to make sure our horses are happy and healthy. So please, learn the facts before you judge people.
He went out doing what he loved and he went out a champion. RIP Kris, you will remain in our hearts forever."
